Our Services

Recovery Programs and Meetings

OUR House offers a weekly in-house “Women in Recovery” meeting. Local recovery programs are throughout the community in Buckhannon such as Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, as well as SMART Recovery meetings.

Operational Standards

OUR House is a WVARR certified transitional housing program as well as a Social Model of Recovery residence. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide residents full access to room and board throughout their stay including holidays and weekends.

Recovery Coaching Sessions

OUR House provides in an in-house Certified Recovery Coach Professional that works one-on-one with residents to plan their goals.

Job Placement Assistance

Employment is essential in overcoming financial burdens and becoming self-sufficient. OUR House helps encourage residents in obtaining those jobs, preparing resumes or helping to provide personal references.

Transportation

Transportation is provided to medical, legal and court ordered family visitation appointments contingent on volunteers being available.

Recreation and Social Activities

OUR House has several in-house activities provided for residents on a daily basis. Their are many activities within the community that residents become a part of. Residents also have the opportunity to go on group activities in the area.

Individual and Group Counseling

Residents are offered access to individual and/or group counseling. Groups sessions are part of the OUR House program as well and help build relationships with other residents and staff. Referrals and resources are available for each resident.

Educational Training

Education in developing independent living skills are provided to help residents become prepared to integrate into society with more skills and tools to adapt to day-to-day life provided by volunteers.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

Random drug and alcohol testing is provided to help ensure the residents have a safe home to recovery. It helps residents stay accountable and remain abstinent throughout their recovery process

Reading Material

Suggested reading material is provided to help residents understand their addiction and how to best arrest it. Each resident is required to read a minimum of one hour a day to help them become more educated about themselves and the tools they can use to live a better life.

Educational Films

Educational films are provided to residents to help them understand the affects of drugs and alcohol. Many films are also provided for residents to watch and review within a group setting. This helps them understand how their addiction and alcoholism effects their lives and in what areas they can cause problems.
